We perform shanties and other music with nautical connections

Why shanties and the like?

We enjoy shanties and Swindon is about as far from the sea as you can get in the South of England, so what better choice could there be?

Our repertoire includes traditional and contemporary songs and instrumental pieces. Some of our songs have instrumental accompaniment but most are unaccompanied.

We play melodeon, guitar, harmonica, tenor guitar, ukulele, mandolin and bass guitar, various percussion instruments and anything else we can get sound out of.

We have very different musical backgrounds from Traditional Music and Folk Song to Blues and Rock and Roll. We draw upon our wide variety of musical experiences and influences to create the arrangements of the music we sing and play.

Also, as Friggitt and Friends, we join with other local performers to put on Mummers Plays and other traditional entertainments.

We love performing, seeing our audience having a good time and hearing them joining in with the choruses.
